A fire rating describes how a material performs under specific heat and duration conditions in a controlled test. Rather than quote a number we haven't independently verified, we're publishing our testing methodology and third-party certification data as it becomes available on this page. If a specific temperature or duration claim matters to your decision, email us before ordering and we'll share exactly what we currently know.

The outer shell is a woven fire-resistant fabric bonded to a water-shedding backing, paired with heat-resistant zipper hardware and sealed interior seams. It's designed for the real-world case of sitting in a closet or safe for years and being grabbed under stress. If the construction fails under normal use, our 30-day return policy covers you, and we handle defect claims directly.

Yes for most families. The interior comfortably fits passports for a family of four, birth certificates, Social Security cards, property deeds, insurance policies, emergency cash, and small hard drives — all without folding standard letter-size documents. If you have an unusually large archive, consider ordering two.
